As a Web Developer for the Library, I developed the interface for Explore Chicago Collections. This work, completed in 2015, involved using JavaScript and Bootstrap based on designs from Pixo, an external design firm.
Included a faceted search within a dynamic web interface, backed by a Django-driven API layer.
Our team’s objective was to plan, design, and implement the Explore infrastructure to improve accessibility to historical collections. The outcome was a user-friendly platform that facilitated access to Chicago’s historical collections.
